Dr. David Sawatzky has earned a reputation as one of Manitoba’s premier choral conductors. He is founder and artistic director of Exaudi Chamber Choir and serves as the Vice President of the Manitoba Choral Association and the Eastman Choral Association. He is in demand as a choral singer within Winnipeg, and has been a member of some of Canada’s finest choral ensembles such as Calgary’s Luminous Voices, Edmonton’s Pro Coro Canada, as well as Manitoba’s own Winnipeg Singers and Canzona. He has earned music degrees from the University of Manitoba and the University of Alberta. After receiving his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Illinois, David spent several years as Assistant Professor of Music at Bluffton University in Ohio. Previously, David was the Artistic Director of Pembina Trails Voices in Winnipeg where his award winning PTV choir Cantemus received 2nd place for the George S. Matheson award in the National Music Festival in both 2015 and 2016. His choirs have toured extensively, with performances in Brazil, China, and Cuba.
